Evaluation and Selection of Articles

The journal features the help of a group of renowned experts, with extensive research and recognized scientific production. The process of selecting articles for publication involves the evaluation of Scietific Editors, members of the Editorial Board, and "ad hoc" expert reviewers' opinions. The submissions are initially evaluated in the framework of the journal scope and relevance by members of the Editorial Board. Further evaluation is performed in a double-blind system review.

The evaluation process involves the following steps:

1. Control of compliance with the rules of publication indicated in the authors guidelines.

2. Evaluation by the Editorial Board for compatibility with the the Journal editorial line.

3. The scientific content of documents is evaluated for at least two ad hoc reviewers according to the criteria: originality, clinical relevance and/or scientific methodology, exemption in results analysis and conclusions supported by the results. In case of possible conflict of interest by reviewers, the Editorial Board will forward the manuscript to another ad hoc reviewer.

4. The opinions of the consultants consist of three possibilities: a) in favor of acceptance, b) need to reformulate c) unfavorable to acceptance. In all these cases, authors will be notified.

5. Opinion of the Scientific Board.

6. The original assessment with "need to reformulate" are sent to authors, so that appropriate changes are made rand subsequently re-evaluated by peer reviewers. The communication of the original authors of the evaluation " unfavorable to acceptance" ceases the copyright transfer.

The selection criteria are quality and originality of the research and its importance to our readers. The final decision on the manuscripts selection for publication rests with the Editorial Board, which reserves the right to refuse any material for publication.

RPG-Revista da Pós-Graduação reserves the right to make necessary adjustments according to principles of linguistic clarity of quality. If extensive changes are necessary, the manuscript will be sent to authors for revision.
