The Minimally Invasive Dentistry that consistently performs to the original tissue, this implies the recognition that restorative materials have a lower biological value than the original tissue; includes the preservation and maintenance of oral health through regular monitoring of the patient in order to assess the risk for caries, periodontal and occlusal (not carious) diseases. Additionally, performs the diagnosis of chronic disease and minimal intervention in cases requiring treatment. One of the highlights of the MID is the commitment of the patient with the approach of health promotion, assuming the responsibility of daily oral hygiene care, proper nutrition and use when recommended interocclusal plate, which are fundamental to the preservation and maintenance of their natural dentition for lifetime.
