The Tutorial Education Program (PET) was created to improve the Brazilian higher education through the teaching, research and extension tripod. The PET aims to educate professionals more able to get in the world of work. This study examined the insertion of PET ex-grant holders of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in the job market. A self-administered questionnaire was answered by 35 of 44 participants of the group during the period 1993 to 2007. The data were analyzed according to a qualitative-quantitative method. Among the egresses, 77,1% finished/are finishing a post-graduation. The professional activities more cited were private clinic (60.0%) and teaching (37.1%). All interviewees attributed positive professional values, to the program in a way that the PET experience contributed to their insertion in the job market, showing the program effectiveness.
