ARAKAKI, Yuri  e  VIEIRA, Glauco Fioranelli. Influence of surface roughness difference of composite resin artificial teeth on the color perception among dental professionals. RPG, Rev. pós-grad. [online]. 2010, vol.17, n.4, pp. 197-203. ISSN 0104-5695.

This study evaluated the influence of the surface roughness difference between artificial teeth replica on the color difference perception of 100 dental professionals and if there were variations on 20 professionals’ opinion one week after the first evaluation. The test was composed by four pairs of artificial composite resin teeth replicas confectioned with the same color EA1, EA3, EB1 or EB2, but the surface of one replica was smooth and the surface of the other one was rough. All the evaluations were conducted in light booth with D65 illuminant and each participant was asked if there was color difference between the replicas. The analysis of the results suggested that the surface texture difference influenced the observers’ color perception between the replicas and reaffirmed that the professionals’ opinion varied after one week of the first evaluation.
