L., Carmen et al. Cyanoacrylate surgical glue for free gingival graft immobilization. RFO UPF [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.2, pp. 223-228. ISSN 1413-4012.

ABSTRACT Introduccion: The gingival recession is defined as the apical displacement of the gingival margin, with consequent root exposure, dental sensitivity and aesthetic compromise. The root coverage, that brings back the normal characteristics of the gingival outline, depends on surgical procedures. The free gingival graft ( EGL ) is a treatment option for these cases. The total stabilization of the graft on the surgical bed is necessary to succeed in the procedure. Objective: This case report aims to demonstrate that the EGL may be fixed in the surgical region with the use of surgical glue N-butyl 2-Cyanoacrylate (Glubran-2). The outcomes suggest that it is possible to stabilize the EGL with surgical glue instead of the use of sutures. Case report : A female patient of 22 years with Miller Class I gingival recession on tooth 41 with a width of 5 mm on the buccal site and absence of attached gingiva. EGL was placed below the root recssion on mucogingival line. One drop of glue (GLUBRAN -2) was placed in each end of the graft. Final considerations: The outcomes suggest that it is possible to stabilize the EGL with surgical glue instead of the use of sutures.
