Aim: To check the knowledge of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professors, concerning scientific research activities and their relationship with Bioethics. Materials and Methods: Undergraduate students, graduate Students, and Dental School professors were selected and an objective questionnaire was applied. The research subjects were divided into specific groups (n=10) from each course within the School of Dentistry at the University of São Paulo. Results: Concerning the signing of a consent form to take pictures of the patients, 46.7% (undergraduates), 39.3 (graduate students), and 42.6 (professors) do not ask for any authorization. However, they are aware that they must have the patient's signature before beginning the treatment, claiming that this authorization already exists within the consent form signed by the patient to participate in the study. Conclusions: It can be concluded that in the analyzed sample, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professors from the three Dentistry courses, have an overall knowledge of the aspects related to Bioethics and Ethics in research that deals directly with human beings.
