This study aims to assess the attitudes of prevention of infection by visual inspection in nursing graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry of Pernambuco - FOP / UPE. Data collection was performed using observational, by type of instrument structured interview, which addressed issues such as work environments, protecting the dental chair team and auxiliary unit for the care and protection of the operator before, during and after the performance of work. According to the results, the working environment of the FOP had clinical failures, however, not detrimental to clinical practice. The control of cross infection by operators was inadequate.
