The Cartoons as an instructive and didactic resource to encourage oral health care and to enhance the interest and the comprehension of oral health issues. This study presents an experience with the use of Cartoons about oral health in a Health Unit. Eleven cartoons were elaborated by senior students from Piracicaba Dental School - UNICAMP about subjects related to oral health care which were pinned on a wall in a Health Unit waiting room in Piracicaba, from March to November, a task related to a curricular activity. It was noted that it contributed to the understanding of concepts, introduction/change in behavior among this Health Unit community. The comics were an important tool to encourage oral health care, contributing to the development of the student's educational practice/ability as much as to inform the community.
