Resumo

This research field has the purpose to verify the prevalence of carcinogenic oral injuries diagnosed in campaings of Project Asa Branca wich were realized by FOC/ASCES in state of Pernambuco, according to gender and age, in the years 2004-2008. An analysis of all the registration records filed of Project Asa Branca campaings in these years has began. The informations found were separate according to variables gender and age, and after, was used the chi-square statistical test. The results showed in years 2004 to 2008, 19.397 people showed some type of oral lesion, being the lesions predominated in female gender (13.826 injureds - 71,28%) and in people with 30 to 59 years old (10.266 injureds - 52,93%). It was verified that, the lesions predominated in female gender and in age group 30 to 59 years old. As the index of patients with prosthesis is more in female gender with these age, we suggest, so, the majority of lesions cases in the Pernambuco state population is because dental prosthesis with bad adaptation or the bad hygiene of the prosthesis, causing the lesion more diagnosed in these campaings: the stomatitis denture
