The research aimed to examine the oral health of elderly users of a Family Health Unit (FHU) in Ponta Grossa, Parana, outlining socio-demographic and oral health of older people who use services, identifying (s) reason (s) for seeking dental care. This exploratory study had a quantitative aspect in relation to sociodemographic and oral health of the elderly, and quality in relation to reasons for users of seek dental care at the Unit of Health Data collection was performed from October-November 2010. The study subjects were 22 individuals aged between 60 and 80, which were treated in their homes, selected from the register of elderly provided by Community Health Agents (CHA). Observou-se que, 64 % dos participantes da pesquisa eram do sexo feminino. Faixa etária compreendida entre 60-64 anos (41%). With regard to oral health status, 77,2 % of the participants were edentulous and 52,4% made use of movable bridge (PPR). As the dental health. 54, 5% of seniors reported being satisfied.
