Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study was to verify and analyze the percentage of projects submitted to the ethics committee on human research at the Center for Health Sciences, Federal University of Pernambuco - Brazil (CEP / CCS / UFPE), pending in the which did not meet the standards, depending on the risks and benefits to respondents. Material and methods: This cross-section where he raised the status of projects submitted and filed in that year, the number of 445 research projects, being defined as follows: Group I - 07, Group II - 14 and Group III - 424. There was, in this period, the percentage of 35% of projects with pending. Results: Among the analyzed projects, 63% did not present the Statement of Informed Consent (IC), as appropriate, when risks and benefits, ie, about 100 projects. Conclusion: Many researchers have not reasoned on the basis of the social aspect of the research, safeguarding the rights of individuals and dignity, recognizing also the need for universities, through the Ethics Committee and its rapporteur. They will discuss the risks and benefits of the research subjects in all areas and departments, and thereby create a social consciousness and human function of respondents, for better development of that research and decrease the number of disputes in the CEP / CCS / UFPE.
