Objective: To demonstrate the efficiency and safety of use oleate solution of monoethanolamine to 5% in the treatment of vascular malformations in maxillofacial region. Method: Solution of monoethanolamine oleate 5% was used to perform sclerotherapy in a patient with hemangioma in lower lip with a protocol of 2ml every 7 days for 4 weeks. Results: There was total reduction of lesion after 4 sessions without any significant complication observed. Conclusion: Sclerotherapy performed with 5% monoethanolamine oleate solution is a good option for cases of hemangiomas in the oral and maxillofacial region, because it shows efficiency in the treatment of injury without the complications of surgical treatment.
