The aim of this study was to analyze and present, through a case study, the applicability of Distance Learningas a tool in the training of professional technical level (Technical Oral Health) area of Dentistry. The proposed construction of the course model was based on the need for large-scale training, to meet the rapid and progressive implementation of the National Oral Health Politic. There were two pilot classes, to verify compliance and applicability of the model at a distance,to form new professionals, and to meet those who are already inserted in the labor market. After completion of the two classes, 100% of the students completed the course. Ingroup 1, 100% would recommend the course and the class 2, 85% would. About achieving public tender, counting the two groups, 80% were approved. Therefore, we believe that distance education is a powerful tool to meet the demands for technical training in dentistry, in the perspective of the SUS and the sectoral legislation.
