This paper aims to report on the experiences Teledentistry , developed through asynchronous tele-education and tele-consultations , the Scientific-Technical Center 's Telehealth Networks in Brazil Mato Grosso do Sul National Programme for the period 2012-2013 . The program , the Ministry of Health , makes use of modern information and communication technologies ( ICT) for distance activities , to strengthen the Primary Health Care ( PHC ) . Mato Grosso do Sul, part of this network since 2010 , with his headquarters in the State Department of Health and among the services available telecare and tele-education , was evidenced in Teledentistry , the growing trend of using asynchronous teleconsulting and web conferencing . With two teleconsultants in the area , an expert in family health and another in Dentistry for Patients with Special Needs Dentistry and were made in the period , 61 asynchronous teleconsultation and tele-education developed in 8 Web conferences related to oral health . Until December 2013 was registered in the teleconsultation system 2,317 health professionals , and 222 dentists and 81 dental health aides . Thus, Teledentistry have proved an important tool for technical support assistance , expanding access for professionals to shares of continuing education in health , prevent unnecessary users of the Unified Health System ( SUS ) geographical displacement , increasing the ability to solve health teams problems as well as contributing to ensuring the comprehensiveness of care by facilitating referral of cases that needed care from other levels of care.
