The traumatic bone cyst is an uncommon injury with uncertain etiology, usually diagnosed in a routine dental radiographic examination, in most cases showing a radiolucent area located in the posterior mandible. It is also called solitary bone cyst, unicameral cyst or sinus trauma. The aim of this study was to report a case of an asymptomatic patient who had a traumatic bone cyst, discovered in a routine panoramic radiograph for assessment of third molars, as well as to review the literature on this pathology.
