MORAIS, Hécio Henrique Araújo de et al. Bilateral Dentigerous Cyst in Mandible: case report. Rev. cir. traumatol. buco-maxilo-fac. [online]. 2011, vol.11, n.1, pp. 55-58. ISSN 1808-5210.

It is defined as cyst, a pathological cavity lined by epithelium which contains in its interior fluid or semi-fluid. The separation of the follicle from the crown of an impacted tooth culminates with a cystic formation called, dentigerous cyst. Among the cysts of development corresponds to the most common. The majority are asymptomatic and can reach larger proportions and cause malocclusion and dental movements. In light of that present no specific radiographic features, it is known that the dentigerous cyst may make differential diagnosis and ameleblastoma unilocular odontogenic keratocyst. The histological aspects of dentigerous cysts are not characteristic and can not be safely used to distinguish them from other types of odontogenic cysts. The removal of the tooth associated with enucleation and careful soft tissue component is the definitive treatment in most cases. We report a case of bilateral dentigerous cyst in mandible, whose occurrence is uncommon, which was treated and subjected to postoperative control.
