The present retrospective and quantitative study aimed to determine the prevalence of blindness and eyeball loss by Retinoblastoma (Rb). Methodology. Evaluation of patient records in the Maxillofacial Prosthesis Clinic of Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), compounding a period of 8 years. Results. Within the 262 rehabilitated with facial prosthesis, it was found 80 patients with eyeball loss by oculars pathologies, among which 8.75% were diagnosed with Rb, whose prevalence were bigger in male patients, in age group ranging from 5 to 20 years old (28.6%), yet without significant association between these variables (p>0.05). Regarding to origin and ethnic group, 14.3% of patients came from metropolitan region of Recife and 12.2% self declared mulattos. Conclusion. Authors emphasize the importance of having a maxillofacial prosthesis specialist in the team of professionals who work with oculars pathologies.
