Patients with an orofacial cleft lip and palate may, during the rehabilitation process until skeletal maturity, develop a skeletal maxillary deficiency as a result of interference from a scar on the lip and palate originating from the initial plastic surgery. We report the case of an adult patient suffering from a labiopalatal fissure with dentofacial skeletal deformity not initially treated, who was submitted to orthodontic-surgical treatment. The peculiarities and planning of such treatment are also described.
