Mandible fractures can lead not only to anatomical and aesthetic as well as the face, change basic functions needed as chewing, swallowing and phonation. Condylar fractures have a high number of controversies as to their diagnosis and best treatment method because many factors influence the choice of surgical or conservative. Accidental falls, automobile and motorcycle accidents, personal violence and sports injuries are the main risk factors associated with condylar fractures. The literature shows traffic accidents as the main responsible for the cause of mandibular fractures between these traumas can have as associated thoracic traumatism, traumatic brain injury and limb injuries. Injuries to the face, while causing large deformations and mutilations, has not an emergency, except in cases of upper airway obstruction and bleeding. This paper aims to describe a case of polytrauma patient, car accident victim, with bilateral fracture of the mandibular condyle, which spite of having received surgical treatment for fracture reduction after only 45 days, has evolved to an outstanding esthetic and functional result.
