Lipomas are the most common mesenchymal neoplasms of the human body. In histopathology consist primarily of mature adipocytes. Clinically, it presents as nodular masses, sessile or pedunculated, soft consistency, gelatinous appearance and smooth surface; often are asymptomatic and without ulceration. This article aims to make the case report of a lipoma in the submandibular region, in close contact with the external carotid artery in a patient 62 years of age, in which the treatment was excision biopsy under general anesthesia and access extra -oral. After removal of the lesion was performed to clean the wound followed by the synthesis. The case was proservado for 18 months without evidence of recurrence.
