The aim of this retrospective study is to verify the epidemiological profile of patients with oral lichen planus. It was evaluated the prevalence related to their location, and compared with smoking, gender, systemic diseases, age groups and association with hepatitis C virus registered in the archives of a Dental Specialty Center (CEO) in the period between September 2006 to February 2013. It was evaluated the data obtained from medical records of 1816 patients, of which 35 was clinical diagnosis lesions of oral lichen planus, affecting mainly patients in an age range from 50 to 59 years. The systemic disease more prevalent was arterial hypertension, and the female gender was more prevalent. In this study, it was not possible make any comparision of oral lichen planus and hepatitis C virus.
