ANDRADE, Eduardo de Lima et al. Simple bone cyst: a case report. Rev. cir. traumatol. buco-maxilo-fac. [online]. 2016, vol.16, n.2, pp. 36-39. ISSN 1808-5210.
Simple bone cysts are benign, rare lesions that affect bone tissue. Pseudocyst can be considered as due to lack of epithelial lining and usually associated with previous injuries which trigger the intra hematoma formation of bone. The injury affects mainly individuals Young, the definitive diagnosis of simple bone cyst is usually achieved during the biopsy procedure which is also the proposed treatment. The histological diagnosis is difficult to be obtained due to insufficient amount of or even no material. The objective of this study is to report a simple bone cyst case in a young patient who attended the outpatient clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the General Hospital Roberto Santos, where the diagnosis was suggested during the procedure of exploratory surgery. Many bone cysts present similar clinical characteristics and radiographic, which may indicate lesions with malignant potential so it is necessary surgery to establish the diagnosis.
