Objetivo There has been a higher demand for dental implants concerning seniors, age 65 or older. Such patients' organic functions are observed to deteriorate progressively. They take several drugs, which, in many cases, might lead to undesirable interactions or complications, especially those involving local anesthetics. Therefore, this literature review is aimed at dental surgeons' attitude toward use of local anesthetics in elderly patients undergoing oral implant rehabilitation. Time and length of procedures, positioning of the patient in the dental chair, most commonly prescribed local anesthetics and vasoconstrictors recommended for elderly patients and their maximum recommended dose.
