The present work has as objective to review the fluorose definition, its causes and the use of the technique of microabrasion of the dental enamel as an alternative treatment, through the literature revision and of the report of a clinical case, accomplished in the clinic of odontologic attendance of UNISC (University of Santa Cruz do Sul-RS), returning to the patient the harmony of its smile, in an aesthetic and conservative way. It is also a review of some microabrasion techniques, advantages of the dental enamel microabrasion techniques, cares for the procedure of those dental enamel techniques and disadvantages. The usage of the dental enamel microabrasion technique, when correctly used, becomes a proper alternative for the treatment of adamantine spots of hard consistency, localized or generalized, providing the regularization, satisfactory enamel planning and the recovery of the color pattern desired by the patient, respecting above of all, the esthetic and conservative principles practiced in modern odontology.
