Due to an apparent saturation in the field of private work, mainly in large urban centers, jobs in the area of public oral health, in either the public or private sectors, has become an expanding market since the beginning of the twenty-first century. In this light, the present article aimed to discuss these specific aspects, investigating the possibilities faced by professionals interested in exercising their profession within this field of knowledge and practices.
