Abstract

Concerned with the parent´s awareness related to the children´s mouth health, this work evaluated by the means of 80 charts reviewing. The reason for appointment children from 0 to 3 years old on Baby Clinic ULBRA Torres Campus. The data collected show that in 52,3% of the cases the reason of appointment was prevention, 32,5% was caries, 11,2% was traumatism and only 5% of patients searched for treatment due to affections. It was concluded that, although there is already some knowledge related to baby's appointments, the Surgeon-Dentist must execute active role of educator and together with the pediatrician, approach the children precociously, bringing more information to the population´s awareness and maintenance of children´s mouth health.
