Historically, the assessment of oral health care used only clinical conditions diagnosed by the dentist based on biological parameters. However, over the past two decades, the impact of oral conditions on individuals' quality of life has gained importance in the scientific and clinical field. Currently, there is a wide variety of instruments able to measure the impact of oral conditions on quality of life of children, adolescents, adults and the elderly.
