Abstract

SANTOS, Analisa Sleman Cardoso dos  and  LEITE, Rafaella Bastos. Integration between Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry Work: a conquest for population. Rev. Bras. Odontol. [online]. 2012, vol.69, n.1, pp. 111-115. ISSN 1984-3747.

Health Promotion-based programs with a holistic view of the individual have been encouraged in health services. Therefore, the integration between medicine, nursing and dentistry is being valued, allowing a respectful treatment of the population, correlating oral lesions with systemic signs and symptoms or mouth injuries and bodily harm with their working environment or with the conditions of the environment where they live. This work highlighted the importance and possibility of professional integration and how much the dentist at work can and should interact with the occupational team to take care of workers' health. We conclude that it is necessary to train the multidisciplinary team to address each type of population, making a correct diagnosis, directing a single and effective treatment.

Keywords : Dentistry at work; Occupational Dentistry; multidisciplinary integration.
