BARBOSA, Debora Granha de Oliveira; MONTENEGRO, Alexandre Campos and DUARTE, João Luiz Portella. Evaluation of surface roughness of three temporary resins submittted in different methods of polishing. Rev. Bras. Odontol. [online]. 2013, vol.70, n.2, pp. 152-155. ISSN 1984-3747.
The provisional restorations are extremely important because they anticipate the definitive treatment. The smoothness of those restorations should get closer to reality to provide periodontal health. This study aims to verify the roughness on different methods of polishing on three brands of acrylic resins. Ninety specimens were made and these were divided into nine groups. Each resin tested was given a control group. From the data obtained by descriptive statistics, were tested within groups. Statistical inference was made by two-tailed tests. Results: we concluded that the resin Classic thermicpolymerized allows a better polish when compared with Luxatemp® Bis-Acryl resins and Dencor® thermoactivated respectively and mecanical polishing was more effective than chemical ones the three types of resin.
