Abstract

Objective: To present the cases of two patients with temporomandibular disorders with significant occlusal instability. Case reports: case 1 was a 16-year-old partially dentulous female patient. Case 2 was a 60-year-old female patient with prostheses. Both patients, when on examination, showed a large difference in maximum intercuspation and centric relation. The proposed treatment for both cases was the use of rigid temporomandibular dysfunction appliances. Conclusion: The rigid temporomandibular dysfunction appliance showed good results, with total remission of the symptoms in both cases.
