Comparison of three intraoral radiographic techniques in determining the quantity of remaining dentin before and after cavity preparations Class I. Rev. Bras. Odontol. [online]. 2016, vol.73, n.4, pp. 293-296. ISSN 1984-3747.
Objective: to conduct a comparative analysis of three intraoral radiographic techniques; bisect, parallelism, and bitewing, to determine the amount of dentin remaining on the floor of the cavity in Class I posterior teeth, so that we can identify the technique that best represents the reality of the situation analyzed. Materials and Methods: we analyzed 50 teeth; premolars and molars of patients between 20 and 40 years affected by primary cavities, by performing three radiographs before and three radiographs after the cavity preparation Class I, Data were analyzed statistically using the Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon tests using the SPSS 20.0 software. Results: the average of the remaining three radiographic techniques showed that there were significant differences (p = 0.00) in the moments analyzed, where the pre preparation cavity the bisecting technique showed greater variation in relation to parallelism and bitewing since the post preparation time cavity average of bitewing showed greater variation. Conclusion: the paralleling technique presented greater standardization as the remaining dentin was observed in two moments of the sockets, before and after the cavity preparation.
