As the number of the population grows, the incidence of Alzheimer disease is also higher. This disease affects in its majority the third age. Alzheimer disease affects the brain, specially the areas of memory and of language, which leads to a deterioration of those functions. Several studies report that inefficient chew can be one of the risk factor for the Alzheimer disease. The aim of this study was to make a literature review about the mastication importance and its relation to Alzheimer’s disease.
