Abstract
PIGOZZO, MÔNICA NOGUEIRA et al. Pain assessment tools and temporomandibular dysfunction prevalence indexes. RPG, Rev. pós-grad. [online]. 2010, vol.17, n.1, pp. 13-18. ISSN 0104-5695.
In Dentistry, the study of pain is very important, even though it acts on a restricted area. The pain has individual and secular variations, making its characterization and, consequently, its evaluation difficult. This evaluation is essential to follow the patient's clinical development, thus enabling the necessary adjustments on treatment. The aim of this study was to perform a literature review based on pain assessment tools, in order to present its more common use and to depict its characteristics and ways of application focusing on temporomandibular dysfunction studies.
