The digital form of dental records, digitally signed and certifies is possible by file encryption which ensures the confidentiality and authorship of the information presented in dental records. The contracts, records of treatment developments and all documents that must be legally maintained for long periods can be replaced by certified copies, eliminating the need for physical storage and other inconveniences caused by excess of material in clinics. Dentists and other health professionals must understand the possibilities of techniques involving digital certification of digitalized files, pictures and documents.
