The objective of this research was to evaluate the oral problems on elderly non institutionalized population on the Centro de Convivência do Idoso, in Franca city, São Paulo. The results showed that, in a total of 210 elderly with 65 years old or more than this, 82.4% were female, and the white race was predominant. Hypertension was the most common systemic disease (21.5%). The completely edentulous people were 75.7%, and 11% were dentate in both arches. The average of tooth was 12, with 5.8 decayed tooth. From 174 users of prosthesis, 84.5% never have had instructions of when exchange the prosthetic apparatus and 77% didn't know how to clean them. Most prostheses were in bad conditions of hygiene (47,5%). The most common oral pathologies were candidiasis (28.4%), fibrous hyperplasia (21.1%) and suction chamber hyperplasia (16.5%).
