Complementary treatment such as tegument excision, peripheral ostectomy and application of Carnoy's solution minimize the recurrence of keratocystic odontogenic tumor after conservative exeresis by enucleation or curettage, although not known by some surgeons. This article reviews the above mentioned techniques and reports their association in two cases of such odontogenic neoplasm, showing effective result with at least five years of follow-up.
