LARA, Marcos Vinicius Zuim; MOTA, João Maurício Lima de Figueiredo; VAZ, Ricardo Rodrigues  and  MACHADO, Marcelo de Paula. In vitro evaluation of marginal adaptation of indirect restorations of composite resin and feldspathic ceramics. RFO UPF [online]. 2010, vol.15, n.2, pp. 212-217. ISSN 1413-4012.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the marginal adaptation of indirect restorations inlay composite resin and feldspathic ceramics. METHODS: A standard OD cavity preparation was milled in stainless steel. The master model was molded with polyvinilsiloxane and type IV stone was poured. Ten restorations composites in Vita Zeta, Dialog II and Solidex were made by incremental technique, with three cycles of activation of 180 seconds using a light unit UniXS. Twenty feldspathic all-ceramic restorations Noritake EX-3 were prepared, ten by the conventional technique and ten by the technique of positive pressure of the refractory lining. To verify the marginal adaptation, the restorations were inserted into the metal die with a weight of 1.0 kg . All the specimens were measured ten times in an optical microscope MitutoyoTM. The mean of the results were submitted in ANOVA and Student's t-test. RESULTS: The results revealed no statistically significant difference in marginal adaptation between the restorative composite resin and feldspathic ceramics (p = 0, 279), and also between the conventional technique and positive pressure-setting of the refractory lining (p = 0.385). CONCLUSION: There was no difference in marginal adaptation between the indirect composite resins and ceramics used. There was no difference in marginal adaptation of ceramics when using the variation of the techniques of prey of the refractory lining.
