REVIEW OF LITERATURE: Even though the clinician develop a thorough job and take due care when performing a restore, they do not last a lifetime, or even fail in a short period of time, frustrating some expectations of their patients. Leakage, recurrent caries, wear or fracture of the restoration and eventual fracture of the dental element are some reasons that lead to failure of the restoration. Faced of that situations, some professionals, either by choice or lack of information, replace the entire restoration, oftentimes causing injury and unnecessary aggression that dental element. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The advancement of the adhesive dentistry offers the possibility of a largely conservative restorative treatment, without the need for total removal of some restorations. Thus, the repair can be used preserving the remaining tooth structure.
