Abstract

RODRIGUES, Mariana Agustinho et al. Evaluation of master cast techniques influence of implant fixed prostheses cast precision. RFO UPF [online]. 2011, vol.16, n.1, pp. 43-48. ISSN 1413-4012.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the precision on three different filling mold techniques in order to obtain a cast simulating a three unit fixed prosthesis implanted retained clinical situation. Materials and methods: It was obtained 30 casts (n = 10) using three different filling mold techniques, the Group 1 was compound by casts obtained by unique fulfillment technique (PU), Group 2 by using two steps fulfillment technique (DP), and Group 3, by using latex cylinder technique (CL). Using a metallic matrix, a titanium substructure was obtained simulating a three unit fixed prosthesis, used as reference to evaluate the marginal misfit in each cast. Vertical misfit was measured by an optical microscope with increase of 120 times and an analysis unit, according to the one-screw test. Results: As results, it was obtained 0,14 as most average value for group 1 (PU), however, according to the Tukey test (p = 0,05), there was no difference statistics between the different treatment groups. Conclusions: The three techniques were considered efficient, however, considering the one step fulfillment the most practical one, it is the more indicated technique on daily clinical practice.
