BRAGANCA, Daniel Pereira Parreiras de et al. Evaluation of the most rejected clinical procedures in dental plans. RFO UPF [online]. 2011, vol.16, n.2, pp. 136-139. ISSN 1413-4012.

Dental audit is an area of knowledge where there are no consistent studies for the elucidation of the main points of disagreement between the auditors and clinical dental surgeons. Objective: the objective of this paper is to show the dentistry class in which dental specialties clinical procedures, glossed by auditors of dental plans, are with more or less frequency. Methodology: The survey was achieved by analyzing 2.283 dental treatments proposed by dentists and stored in a cooperative dental work in the period from 2002 to 2008. Data were compiled and analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Results: It was found that the procedures of dentistry are responsible for 50.1% of glosses, where 36.4% of restorations are in resin - one face. Periodontics also showed a significant number of glosses, that is, 19.4% represented by supra and sub gingival scaling. On the other hand, endodontics procedures and minor oral surgery obtained a low index of rejection, that is, 2.3% and 2.2%, respectively. Conclusion: dental and periodontics specialties obtained higher numbers of glosses, whereas surgery and endodontics are specialties which obtained the lowest index of glosses.
