Abstract

One of the biggest dilemmas a clinician finds, with respect to the diagnosis of oral lesions, is the variety of possible conditions that may occur because, since a large number of differential diagnoses is found. The objectives of this study were to assess the incidence of oral lesions found in the clinic of Stomatology of UNISUL - Tubarão / SC, analyzing medical records by observing sex, age, smoking, and systemic conditions of patients, correlating them with the type of lesion shown; defining the most frequent intra-oral lesions in the study and report their clinical features. The patients' medical history and the information on the results were obtained through their files. 64 pathological findings were investigated. It was concluded that the most frequent lesions found were inflammatory fibrous hyperplasia, leukoplakia and apical periodontal cyst.
