Abstract

PEREIRA, Jefferson Ricardo et al. Evaluation of tensile strength of fiberglass posts cemented with different glass ionomer cements through pull-out-test. RFO UPF [online]. 2012, vol.17, n.2, pp. 167-170. ISSN 1413-4012.

In order to obtain resistance and retention of intra radicular posts, is essential the adequate selection of the luting agent. Objetive: to analyze different types of glass ionome cements used for the cementation of intra-radicular fiverglass posts, through the pull - out test. Methods: Fiverglass posts were comented in 50 human canines, divided in the following groups (n = 10): Group I - Ionoseal (VOCO), Group II - Lining and Cement (GC), Group III - Fuji II Improved (GC), Group IV - Rely X Luting 2 (3M ESPE), Group V - Ketac Cem (3M ESPE). Results: the Anova test showed significant difference among groups. The Tukey test showed that the Lining and Cement was statistically more resistant than the Ionoseal (p < 0,05). Conclusion: thus, analyzing the results, it can be concluded that, evaluating the tensile strength of the fiberglass posts cemented with different glass ionomer cements, through the pull-out test, the conventional glass ionomer cement Lining and Cement, proved to be superior to the other cements.
