Abstract

MARQUES, Vanessa Fontenele et al. Evaluation of the bond strength between the dentin and fiberglass posts using three different cementing techniques. RFO UPF [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.3, pp. 283-287. ISSN 1413-4012.

The clinical success of cementing intraradicular posts is directly related to proper application and selection of cementing agents. Objective: to assess bond strength to the push-out test between dentin and fiberglass posts, using three different cementing techniques. Materials and method: thirty fiberglass posts were cemented in bovine incisors and divided into the following groups: Group I - Single Bond 2 + RelyX ARC, Group II - Scotchbond Multipurpose Plus + RelyX ARC, and Group III - RelyX U100. The push-out test was performed and the results were submitted to variance analysis. Results: The ANOVA showed no significant differences between groups (p < 0.05). Conclusion: after analyzing the results, it may be concluded that the clinical success of cementing fiberglass posts with resinous materials predominantly occurs due to frictional holding, and not only to the adhesive bond itself.
