Objective: Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) is an aseptic necrosis of the bone tissue, which develops after radiotherapy, in patients with head and neck tumors. The mandible presents high risk for developing ORN, when compared to the maxilla, because of its poor vascularization. This study aims to perform a literature review and report a clinical case of ORN. Case Report: This work reports a case of ORN located in the jaw, and treated with surgical debridement and low intensity laser therapy (LILT), in a 57-year-old woman. Final Considerations: Patients undergoing radiotherapy require the follow-up of a professional capable of providing an early diagnosis of dental- and maxillofacial-related pathologies resulting from radiotherapy. This professional should also conduct proper treatment for occasional consequences before, during, and after radiotherapy.
