Malocclusion, defined as changes in growth and development affecting the occlusion of teeth, is considered a public health problem, as it interferes with the quality of life of affected individuals and presents a high prevalence. The "Center for Advanced Orthodontic Care" Project is an initiative in orthodontics at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), which provides orthodontic care primarily to teachers, university' staff, and their relatives. ln addition to the orthodontic services offered to the UFMG community, this kind of project allows for the creation of a collective protocol in a complex specialty, which commonly emphasizes the individual approach, showing the viability of orthodontic treatment with high quality and low prices. Therefore, as a model, the pilot project works as a guideline for implementation in other dental specialties, especially since the UFMG School of Dentistry intends to create new dental centers.
