Abstract

SILVA, Heitor Fontes da et al. Upper impacted fourth molars bilaterally: Case report. Odontol. Clín.-Cient. (Online) [online]. 2011, vol.10, n.1, pp. 99-101. ISSN 1677-3888.

Fourth molars are one of the most common number anomalies and are found with higher incidence in the maxilla, in the permanent dentition and in male patients. The reason for this dental anomaly is not completely understood, but is probably related to hyperactivity of dental lamina. The radiographic examination is the major element for diagnosis, since they have almost invariably retained and asymptomatic. This paper aims to report a case of upper impacted fourth molars bilaterally, as well as comment on the etiology, prevalence, complications and treatment through a literature review.
