A retrospective study, based on histopathological findings in 1381, made available in this center. We excluded 27.3% (n = 519) There was agreement between clinical and histopathological diagnosis in 50% (n = 690) of cases, there was greater coincidence (60%) between the diagnoses in the group normal standard and greater divergence in the group of benign neoplasms (59.8%). The lesion was found more fibrous hyperplasia with 16.3% followed by mucocele (8.7%) and fibroma (8.6%). It was concluded that the group of normal is more easily while the benign neoplasms have a more complex clinical diagnosis, justifying a biopsy and histopathological analysis to obtain a definitive diagnosis. Also given the large number of injuries may affect the maxillofacial complex with similar affect the maxillofacial complex with similar characteristics that can induce the professional error.
