Despite the evidence of improvements in oral health conditions in Brazil and in the world, the caries and periodontal diseases are still being the main causes of tooth loss. This study aimed to carry out an epidemiological survey on the conditions of oral health an adult worker of SESI in the city of Cascavel, Paraná, concerning the use and need of prosthesis for planning health initiatives aimed for better living conditions for this population. It was conducted an exploratory study among 250 workers in the age groups 18-32, 33-47 and 48-56 years old. The results showed that 80% of the workers did not use any kind of dental upper prosthesis and 93.2 % did not use lower prosthesis. The use of denture had its highest percentage in the age group of 33-47 years old with 2.8 % in the upper jaw and 0.4 % in the below jaw. Regarding the need of prosthesis 82.8 % of those examined did not need upper prosthesis and 61.6 % did not need below prosthesis. It was concluded that 55.6 % of the population examined does not use, but needs some kind of upper or below dental prosthesis.
