STOFFEL, Tais; FAGUNDES, Valdimara Barbosa; MIURA, Cristina Sayuri Nishimura  and  BOLETA-CERANTO, Daniela de Cássia Faglioni. Maintaining oral health during pregnancy is very important. Frequently, people do not have access to information about possible oral diseases and complication commonly seen in this period. This study evaluated the oral health knowledge in pregnant women attended by SUS in Cascavel-PR. Questionnaires were used for data collection. Results were descriptively presented. During the study period, 402 pregnant women enrolled SUS prenatal services, 85 pregnant women participated in the sample. 17.65% of the participants were under 19; 49.41% were 20-30 and 32.94% were over 30 years old. Of the total sample, 51.76% brush their teeth three times a day, and 78.72% use dental floss. Based on their opinion 41.18% believed that anesthesia could not be used in dental procedures during pregnancy and 76.47% were not oriented by the doctor to visit a dentist. The myth that the mother loses calcium from the teeth during baby's teeth and bones formation is still in use (30.59%). The majority (77.65%) knows that prolonged use of non-nutritive habits can be harmful to the child. In conclusion, pregnant women are concerned about baby's oral health, but the orientation about dental care during pregnancy is not enough.
