Abstract
SANTOS, Marcelo Rodrigues dos et al. Congenital granular cell lesion: a case report. Rev. cir. traumatol. buco-maxilo-fac. [online]. 2010, vol.10, n.1, pp. 35-38. ISSN 1808-5210.
Congenital granular cell lesion, or congenital epulis, is a rare lesion occurring in the newborn and arising predominantly from the maxillary alveolar ridge. It presents a benign behavior and no cases of recurrence have been reported. We report the case of a girl aged five days, who presented with a large mass arising in the gingival mucosa of the mandible, causing difficulty in feeding. The treatment was a surgical excision under general anesthesia and the histological examination revealed large granular cells.
